You know Adam they are getting a little testy. The election is quite near, and see more and more fall out from the right to the left these days. The Senate and House are even going to allow stem cell research with their Republican majority. Flip Floppers!

Awfully bold question on the part of a professor!

I think grouping any political party into a stereotype is a bad thing. It is what makes politics unreasonable and so terribly stupid.

Now I'll recognize the fact that the "Neoconservatives" are trying to appeal to the bible belt and gun nuts, but that doesn't mean that identifying as being "Neoconservative" means you go to church and the gun store in that order every Sunday.

I think it was this way when the Democrats were in office. The Republicans bashed Bill Clinton* and the Democrats bitterly fought back, using Reagan as an example.

Now as for who is right and who is wrong, rest assured that both parties do a good job for different people. Of course Republicans don't want to provide social welfare and the Democrats (sort of...) provide some forms of social welfare. If you are wealthy, anti-abortion, and pro-war, then the Republicans are a good choice. If you are poor, for abortion, and anti-war, then starting a revolution is the right choice.

Did I say that out loud?

Long story short, it is all a matter of appealing to their voters. That is why George Bush wants to ban gay marriage.

Considering your title I am abit awed by the use of a big brush. Your title indicates an elevated IQ level yet you can't comprehend the consevative mindset. You use psychobabble to describe us and consevatives know that the psycological community is a liberal bastion that taught that a behavior translates into a minority status. Thats delusional. Your Myths have been taking a beating lately and that does translate into rather erratic behavior by your liberal contemporaries. There is cause and effect.
I am not sure where your from but I live in Fly over country so this Hayseed does understand with glee that there is a reason you don't understand, the Elites in this country are clueless and you are a self described elitist. Smile and have a great day DUDE.

Their bitter cause of the opposite, they know Bush is doing a terrible job and have no defense for him. Most of their answers are just bashing the questioner, they never actually answer a question. And when you put a good question up you want them to answer, none of them will even show up. Their bitter because they have no defense for the failure's of the president..

The "neo-conservative" mentality is extremely bitter and obsessive. They are still ranting about John Kerry. The neo-con affliction shares many symptons with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Schizophrenia. It should be considered a mental illness.

I am conservative, and I am pretty bitter because the person who is supposed to represent my beliefs and those of this country, is an idiot. Just because republicans have people in power does not make them winners, Bush is making every person who voted for him look like an idiot, thank goodness I did not vote for him... or Kerry.

Because while the Middle East explodes, job growth remains the slowest of any economic recovery period, US soldiers still die, freedoms continue to be eroded, etc, they're bitter because we can't recognize how everything smells like flowers and looks like butterflies.

The lefts spin and personal attacks on our President. We're not bitter. We're just fighting back. Deal with it.

The left seems to think that freedom of speech means freedom from consequences. If you lie, we're going to call you on it.
