A good leader is someone that can lead. I know it sounds like something a dictionary would say but a good leader is someone that can get his followers to see his vision and share his passion for it. They also need to care about the people and not their personal agenda. A good leader has charisma, dedication, integrity, honesty, and caring. There isn't just one type of leader there are many different kinds and depending on the situation, a different kind of leader is needed. There are contingency theories on what kind of leader is good for what kind of situation.

The ability to examine a situation, determine the best course of action to take, and then to communicate this course of action to those persons serving under him. A good leader is more than a strategist, he must also be able to communicate these strategies to others.

Respect for those (s)he leads;
Ability to listen to all sides of an argument without prejudice;
Love - honest, true, unconditional love;
Commons sense decisions based on facts, not emotion;
Honesty and integrity;
High regard for the sanctity of life.
NONE of these traits are held by Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld.
