So ok, I have a Trojan Horse Downloader Virus on my Laptop, and I have been trying to get rid of it, I have NO idea what to do, so out of frustrationa nd being the dummie that I am I start playing around with stuff and went into msconfig and instead of choosing to safeboot minimal (which I'm guessing is the default) I chose "safeboot (alternateshell)" and now I'm stuck! How do I get back to normal startup? What do I have to type in the little prompt box to fix this? Also if you know how to get rid of a Trojan Horse Downloader located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\HOS029.dll PLEASE help me with that! I tried going into safe mode and deleting the file, but it said it was being used so it couldn't delete AHHH!!! PLEASE save me!

update your anti virus that will remove the trojan completely
my option is use AVAST anti virus..
it do scans for the virus before the windows is loaded so that your trojan process isnt being started

Do you have a virus protection software on your computer? Such as Norton, or one of the many others. To get back to normal, boot, go back into msconfig, and select normal setup.

Get free online scanning from any popular antivirus companys. It will clean your entire harddisk or atleast Porvide some virus clean tools.

Or you can install any antivirus. I suggest McAfee antivirus is the best of all. It takes less memory to run.

first, close all windows, programs, etc.
second, open up the control panel in your start menu
then, open up the icon/file that says "remove/change programs"
then click on the one that says "Trojan Horse etc."
then click "Change/Remove"
that should take care of it, in the future any time you want to remove a program that is how you do it
