Hey dude, I'm on the other end of that question.....my wife gives me an allowance. We both work at teaching jobs....I give her my check and since I don't deal with the money....I get an allowance...

But to answer your question.....you bet your butt....if she is a housewife, she should get some type of monetary "thank yous"; be a real partner in a relationship and take care of business...

my husband gives me an allowance out of my paycheck sometimes.
i have 3 jobs now but i never have any money but what he allows me to keep.
1. mom
2. tanning salon
3. under him at a restaurant
i like to work, but sometimes i want to keep my pay.
almost all of my money that he takes is for bills and such, it's not like HE's keeping it really.
i guess it's alright to give your wife an allowance sometimes, but don't make regular practice of it.
the fact that your making it 'allowance' is kind of annoying.
for me sometimes it's irritating like he's my dad or something.
but i love him and as long as the bills get paid, what's the harm right?
