My first computer was an Coleco Adam with, Zilog Z80 A 4mhz CPU, 25kb ram, 16color, and the only game I had was Buck Rogers.
From my Adam I went to a 286 running at 16mhz or 32mhz on turbo. The 286 had a 20mb hard drive and a 5 1/4 inch drive, I think it even had a 1mb of graphics memory.
Next was a 486 based system from Acer, I think it had 32mb of memory and a 200mb hard drive.
Then I had a Pentium 1, starting to feel the power now.
Then I had a Pentium 3 @ 500mhz, 40gb harddrive, 256mb memory, and an original Nvidia Geforce card with 32mb.
I used this last system for quite a while untill I couldn't upgrade it anymore. The I built my latest beast.
My current beast, built almost 2years ago, has an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1mb cache, 1GB crucial memory, 2x80gb Seagate hard drives in raid 0 mode, 16x DVD-R/W, 16x DVD-Rom, 500watt psu, an Asus mobo, an ATI Radeon 9600XT, and a crystal clear case. Plays all the games I need and more.
But as always I am now looking for my next system which will probably use either a dual core 2 duo, or the AMD 4x4 solution, with 2gb memory and probably 2TB of storage, a dual layer DVD-R/W or maybe a blue-ray burner(if the price comes way down.) Not sure about the graphics card yet, but it will probably be an Nvidia as I mostly use Linux and ATI drivers aren't up to par yet.
