Wait until your child is old enough to clean the earrings by themselves!! It will hurt your baby when the piercing is actually done, and then when he/she sleeps at night those little earrings will be poking into the side of her head/neck area. It might look cute to some people, but I say wait until your child can tell you they want holes in their body!

And no, I don't have a problem with piercings... I have several. But I was the one who made the decision to get them, not my mom.

It's a personal choice. Personally I think that babies and even young children with pierced ears look trashy or inapropriate but I know a lot of people do it. I was 10 when I was allowed to get mine pierced and I think I will do the same with my daughter. But like I said, it's a personal choice... but I think like under 6 months it's more succeptible to infections.

about 18 years should do it. I hate seeing baby's with ea rings. It's not nice, It's tacky and cruel. The kid may decide it doesn't want earrings in the future, but it's stuffed as it's parents wanted a fashion accessories. Get a handbag, don't permanently scar your baby. Why not get it tatooed at the same time

Both of mine were 6 weeks old. Our pediatrician said wait until 6 months old though. I don't know why. Neither child had any problems.
