I am a swing voter. I vote for the best candidate on election day. i don't vote for just anybody because he is of a certain party. I think that if everyone was a 'swing voter' it would make the country a better place. I just don't like the idea that 99% of the time you have 2 choices...and you will vote for some schmuck, just because he has the republican or democrat label. Just think how much harder a politician would work for you (and the country) if he knew that there wasn't already a large percentage of voters out there that he can count on voting for him every election.

yes. It is a shame that we didn't listen to George Washington's warning about parties.

not sure if it is really ruining the country. there are many people who don't completely agree with either party on every single issue. usually they are the ones who don't vote. or they "pick the lesser of two evils". that and both parties seem to be getting more and more extreme. but then again if you had 50 different people running for say president, that would really become complicated and could cause even more corruption and division.

Yes.

I'm starting a new party. SPLATT (note the name). It stands for Stop PLATe Tectonics. Our platform is to eliminate Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. Our mascots are the flatworm and squash.

Do you want to join?

no...whats ruining this country is the politicians who put their own financial gain and political power above those of the country...both sides are guilty of this...

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is that we can no longer vote for candidates, we have to vote on platforms. Then, the candidate elected feels no duty toward those who didn't vote for them.

Unfortunately, I don't see a change coming any time soon, I actually can see it getting worse...
