The best book(s) I have ever read are the "Left Behind" series by: Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. I look forward to every new book in the series that comes out and I end up finishing it in record time.....I definately would say these books are a must read for everyone that likes to read. They are so good because there is truth behind the story even though technically they are fictional and if you are a Christian especially the books will have meaning for you, and if you aren't a Christian it will definately get you thinking more deeply about life and where we go after life. They are so fantastic I hope you give them a good "READ". :-)

"Report to Greco" by Nikos Kazantzakis. He also wrote "Zorba the Greek," and "The Last Temptation of Christ."

I liked it because the writing is very beautiful. It is autobiographical and this man had an incredibly interesting and diverse life. He interweaves a lot of philosophical and theological thoughts from various regions of the world - both occidental and oriental. It is long but can be read in pieces. It requires the reader to think about how they relate to what is being written and gives a wide variety of ideas. All of his books are wonderful, but I like this one the best.

Lord of the Rings was my introduction to fantasy. I love stories with high ideals.

Les Miserables was my intro to foreign lit. I loved the characters and then I went and saw the musical, which was pretty good, too.

Brideshead Revisited. I started to read it just because it's a classic and I thought that I should, then I became absorbed in the story. I almost recognized my family in some parts...

Life of Pi, just because of the ending.

Tad Williams book "Tailchaser's Song".
I love cats, but even without that an excellent book. I've read it annually for 12 years and cry every time.
It boils down to the tried and true "average Joe" being sucked into the chaos of the world beyond himself and doing what he must to make things better.

the best book i ever read was Probably the beging of the Redwall series...or maybe Pendragon. I read alot, so i'm just going to recommend one Its called Faerie Wars, its not as gay as it sounds, its really good. I liked it because it took a childish topic and put a semi serious spin on it and included some real to life things.

1. Jane Eyre - just an emotional rollercoaster ride follows her through her life by C. Bronte
2. Memoirs of a Geisha- if you thought the movie was good the book is better- beautifully written, I couldn't believe a man wrote this it is written like a true memoir
3. Oryx and Crake - Margaret Atwood (wrote handmaid's tale too)another of Atwoods versions of the future , quite strange but oddly compelling)

I don't know, there are many:
Harry Potter series, The Count of Monte Cristo, Things Fall Apart, The Westing Game, The Da Vinci Code, Farsala Trilogy, LOTR books.

You read them and decide for yourself why they are good!

The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo
first (style wise): it's style is simple and attractive, closer to life than the usual (plot)
second (idea wise): the theme of the book is simple but very profound
Third (what i got from it): it completely changed my perspective in life, it's the type of book u want to read with a notebook by your side to state all the ideas u learn from it, the concepts that, added to your own beliefs, turn into a philosophy of life
