A romantic getaway to me is definitely a Bed & Breakfast. Lots of pampering...if they have a room with a jacuzzi, even better!!! A nice bottle of Asti Spumante, maybe some strawberries, a nice romantic soak in the jacuzzi (for two of course!)...and let's not forget her all over body massage!! ((don't forget the feet please!)) Make it all about how much you still love her. Presents are just "things', your love is what she really wants.

Send her on a day long scavanger hunt to find you, leaving her gifts, love notes and the next location at every stop ending with a secluded location. Send her to get a manicure, pedicure, whatever else she likes. I am sure the people at these locations would gladly cooperate and hold her gifts or love tokens for her. At the final stop (where you will be) Leave a note on the door and a trail of rose pedals to lead her to the bedroom. Have 20 or 30 candles lit, some strawberries, whip cream, love music and champagne. Write her a page long (or more) letter telling her what the past 13 years has been like for you and why you look forward to the next 13 years. Spend the next few days making the naughty

1.) A quiet weekend at a lake front cabin or mountain cabin. Take supplys and just enjoy each others company.
2.) Rent a limo and have it take you to a nice dinner theater for the evening.
3.) Lock the doors, unplug the phone and spend the weekend babying each other, bubble baths, candles, flowers, soft music, good food, etc.....
4.) Lots of hotels have weekend getaway packages look for something close by 2 to 4 hour drive.

Do you have any resorts near you? Casino's? Riverboats? When I used to live in IL, a lot of ppl would take weekend trips to the Mississippi River to stay on the riverboats...
Um, I think the main thing would be to just find an all inclusive place, there's got to be one...OR a small lil antiques town..(Galena, IL style) where you could stay at a bed and breakfast, and just stroll around window shopping...just being together.
Good luck with your decision! And have fun!

Go to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of any guide to Bed and Breakfasts in your area. They are usually very romantic and can recommend local sightseeing and restaurants. They are better than hotels (if you can climb stairs) because each one is unique. You will have to pay more if you do not wish to share a bathroom. However, every time I've gone to a bed and breakfast, both my husband and I enjoyed the experience.

Congrats! on the 13. That is a long time. Take her somewhere that has a day spa so that you and her can be pamper because, you both deserve it. You can get massages, facials, pedi and manicures, drink wine and eat chocolate covered strawberries. Some have what is called Romantic packages.

Congratulats! you still think of this after 13 years of being together. Unfortunatly i have no suggestions for places becuase i do not know the area, but what about sleeping outside in a tent? bring somee food and make picnic, then light a fire and talk about the moment you first met..

The best romantic getaway is to listen to the songs you listened to when going out together. Slow dancing spontaneously with her.Holding her hand quietly. Revisiting a place you went to when you was going together. Romance comes from the heart not from things. Been married LOT longer. Remember those kisses when you went together. Try bringing them back.

For our 20th we stayed home, My husband cooked steaks on the grill while I made a salad. After dinner we sat together on the deck and drank a bottle of Assti and sang old songs to each other, neither of us can carry a tune in a bushelbasket but it was very romantic because we were together
