I'm more christian than conservative, more conservative than liberal, and smart enough to not let politics get in the way of faith. Give me scriptures that support your liberal or conservative views. Jesus was a Jewish independent in my view. I wonder how he'd have voted in 04.

politics are human affairs, faith is the ability to understand spiritual things.

Is there a connection of the two? yeah, I think that people can rely on faith when it comes to politics.

Politics and faith are not interchangable, and they shouldn't be. Jesus wasn't an independant in the Jewish political climate of his time. Jesus was a Zealot, both the sect and political philosophy. The politics of Jesus is clear from the gospels, he didn't support armed uprising against the Roman occupation, was opposed to the temple being used as a market, and was a clear proponant of alcohol and in opposition to what we call blue laws. Jesus was clearly a liberal for his time. If he were wlaking the earth in 2004 it is also clear that he would have voted for Kerry. The guy who claims that Bush has the mandate of god is just as clearly insane. Jesus was also pretty clear about his attitude towards war, and violence. Not to mention that in order for Bush to ever have sat in the White House except to visit his daddy, he needed to cheat.

I think liberals should not be christians because they agree on abortion.

Jesus was not independent because he is God.
He didnt have to vote in 04, he knows who got elected. In other words, somehow he appointed Bush for 04.......

I don't believe you should because one has nothing to do with the other. In my opinion. I think the two serve different purposes and to combine them would make civil war almost certian in this country.
