There is about to be a new battle. The war started on 9/11.

if you mean besides the war on terror, and enduring freedom, and one directly involving U.S. troops (not Israel etc.) then possibly but unlikely. The U.S. is more interested now in simply resolving issues, especially after all of the negative attention we have received from Iraq. The last thing this country wants/needs is another war and more unfavorable press around Europe. We need to make sure we keep our allies and invading Syria, North Korea, or Iran in particular would not help us with our ongoing attempts to keep things friendly with China and Russia. We are finally realizing that we just will not be the only nation with nuclear weapons and we will have to move on to peace talks rather than stopping everyone.

Actually it started back in 93 and was ignored by an illegitimate President.
