Would Shane from the L Word be considered Butch or Tomboyish?

i've never seen the show, but butch is where they are just boy all over (clothes, attitude, voice, speach, walk, hairstyle, etc)... tomboy is where they still act kinda girly but are into all the boy things (football, baseball, muscle cars... etc) they also dress a little boyisn but not as boyish as butch women...
