I think it's great to know how to hunt. Especially if you are going to eat what you kill. Shooting well.... everyone should know how to handle a gun. Especially with the way the world is today. If you are taught proper gun safety & handling I see nothing wrong with it at all. I enjoy it. Personally I don't hunt but I do enjoy practicing with targets. I love winning! And fishing! Woohoo! That's what I'm talking about. I love to fish & I like eating the fish I catch. How fun is that! : )

Just like everything else, In It Own Niches.
Uni-from way of Thinking, Thought that it disappeared
"Long Time ago", we fought to remove a thing called Communism.
It "Preaches" a certain thinking, that so how translate that Everybody had to subscribe to the Central Thinking, so what like what North Korea now.
Democracy Won the Day
But so Great Men got together and allow the rest of us to have Choices, as long as it is responsible (Even so irresponsible choices slip thro the gaps) Socially OK (Not prefect in this aspect too) People Practise it.
Internet will create more Niches
There is this invention call the Internet, which allow specific niches to come together fro even further in the world to synergies. i.e Ebayers
Where do Hunting, Shooting & fishing fit in today/tomorrow society?
Into their respective Yahoo Groups. It take only two person to form a Group, and there is more than two person around.

if you pass a Law that stops hunting-fishing -shooting you will have an over----abundence of wildlife which will bring on sickness over usage of grazing there has to be these things or it is bad for the wildlife & man as well.Conservation is awesome granted there is jerks out there that take advantage & dont care except only themselves. It all fits in todays society

Fits in fine. If you don't hunt and fish, you can have an overpopulation of a certain animal. (Deer, for example) As long as you're hunting or fishing for food, it's fine. If you go out and shoot a 12 point buck just to mount it and put it over your mantle and throw the rest of the deer awa...well, that's just wrong.

shooting tends to be a sport or recreation like so many others.
hunting and fishing are a bit different. it usually involves shooting, but to the end of killing. fishing leads to taking and killing too. i guess it just adds a lot of fun to the survival. having a big processing plant do all the work takes the fun out. no longer can someone process their own food.
in third world countries, people have goats/lambs/cows/chickens that they keep around for food. chasing them around isn't as fun as stalking them through the woods or catching them. hunting makes it fun.

Its society that doesn't really fit. Hunting and fishing should be part of life, esp. if it results in food at the end.
You see all these kids bored out their poor little skulls in city centres commiting crime, its those sorts of people that would really enjoy the outdoors and being with nature and part of the food-chain, they would come out bettter people when they returned to the cities.

It's the only argument left for rednecks to be able to buy semi-automatic weapons, get drunk, drive their pickup trucks at night with the lights on and fire at defenseless animals. YEEEEEEEHAW!!!!
Fishing is calming, as long as you don't have someone who likes to talk a lot with you, and as long as you're not bothered by too many fish!
