A good leader is a man or woman who elads by example. He will never ask people to do something that he is not willing to do himself. He is respectfull to toehrs and takes in opinions. HE stands by his values and makes a decision. Most importantly though, he takes responsability for his actions and the actions of those that follow him.Stubborness is the trait of a petulant child, not a leader.

Good question. But difficult to answer. What some see as stubborn, others would see as decisive, or resolute. However, it's important that a leader consider all the options, all the facts, and if his/her stance on subjects requires adjusting in light of these options/facts, then he/she should do so.

Remember the "waffler" accusation made of John Kerry? The Americans that bought in to that political campaign are the stupidest amongst us. Unfortunately, there are a lot of them.

Not stubborn.
Calculating. A leader weighs all the risks, "WHAT IFS",
if you will, and by process of elimination of the negatives, makes a decision. With experience, this comes quickly, such as on a battlefield.
A stubborn person shuts out any input by another. Leaders do not.

i think it's a matter of resolve (which people label as "stubborn" if they disagree with a leader's decisions). That said, being stubborn is definitely a human trait--we're just poor judges sometimes about what constitutes stubbornness vs resolute.

No, but generally a good leader sticks with his decisions.
