YES I ACCEPT! because his behavior was provoked from a spiteful dirty Italian soccer player.
Mazeratti insulted ZIDANE without even any prior serious injury scene from Zidane. Mazeratti had no reason to start coursing out and repeat exactly the same dirty words 3 times...
To me Mazeratti is a SPITEFUL dirty *******.
He should be punished!
ZIDANE IS A GENIUS SOCCER PLAYER! HE DESERVES THE GOLDEN BALL OF 2006!

Players curse all the time at each other during the course of a game. It's a part of the game. Zidane just lost it and should have been punished. He could have answered back verbally or by winning the game during the PK.
Anyway>isn't the Golden Ball awarded for overall performance throughout the tournament instead of how you played in one game?

Zidane was clearly the best player at this world cup and all players do something wrong all the time its just so happened to happened at the biggest event in the world. Figo did the same thing earlier and the ref only gave him a yellow. and in the WC the refs are not allowed to watch video replay which they clearly did cause the ref on the field and the 2 linesman didn't see the incident.

No, I believe that Zidane acted alittle out of line but I would have done the same thing if something those things about me and my family but I think he should of thought about it more because he need stay in the game and maybe France would still have a chance. No one saw it anyway the refs cheated an looked at the screen I don't think he should have been thrown out.

Materazzi did insult Zidane by bad mouthing Zidane's mother, but considering Zidane's position as a player and his reputation, he shouldn't have acted that way, so i think as a punishment they shouldn't have gave him the golden ball.

certain, Materazzi did say that Zidane deserved the award because he became the perfect on the pitch. He gained it for what he did on the pitch," Materazzi said in an interview with Gazzetta dello sport printed Thursday. "He became the perfect." Materazzi became the only which became headbutted, if he feels that Zidane might want to save the golden ball, I dont see who can disagree.

If I was in charge, I would have him make a public speech and declare on TV, why he thinks he deserves the Golden Ball.
You want to justify your actions Zidane? OK, talk to me then. Tell me why you think you deserve the Golden Ball award...

Zidane fell for the most amateur trick in the book.
His behavior was not only unacceptable...it was unprofessional and a definitive sign that he is truly NO Champion...
True winners don't fall for that...and it goes on all the time.
He was just undisciplined enough to fall for it.
What a loser. - not worthy of the Golden Ball at all.
