when I double click my internet explorer icon it acts like it wants to bring the page up then it spills back to my desk top. I have to use yahoo mail to get on the internet I don't want that. how can I get explorer to open up do I need to configure something or what. what do i do?

Try reinstalling your IE browser, there is a corrupted file which is in connection with the icon in the desktop.. If you notice the icon in the desktop is not an ordinary shortcut since you can access the IE properties from that icon.. If there are files in your desktop other than shortcuts try putting them in a separate folder.

Getting IE updates from microsoft could sometimes fix this or try reinstalling by using your CD installer. The best way is uninstalling and reinstalling your current IE browser and updating it to a newer version, try IE 7 if you pass the system requirements. Also, scan your system for spywares and viruses.. they are always the culprits of IE browser issues like yours.

just install firefox ie is crap full of viruses and bugs
