You need the advice of an expert, firstly to authenticate and secondly to evaluate your books. Go to a large library and talk to the librarian for advice on where your nearest expert is located.
Depending on the value of the books, you may want to look at an auction house to sell them - again, one the specializes in that sort of item, rather than a general auction house or e-bay.
Good luck!

First, check

www.abebooks.com

to determine what the going rates for such books are. Prices will vary depending on the condition of the books (very fine, fine, good, fair, etc.), whether it's a first edition and still has a dust jacket (dj).

If they appear to be of considerable value, you might risk them on eBay, but be sure to put a minimal value in line w/ abe prices. If you have enough of them, you might consider a shelf at a good local antique mall, preferably one that has a few other booksellers who would attract book buyers to that location. If you have a good local dealer that you trust (or a librarian who deals with book dealers), they may give you good advice -- maybe not a good price themselves, for they have to make a profit on anything they buy, but good advice.
