Why should I waste my time cutting my food when I can have the waitstaff do it for me?

Oh, I'm not American either.

The waiter should know that the customer is always right - therefore, if you ask, someone technically SHOULD cut your food for you. However, I do not think that failure to comply with this wish necessarily deserves a bad tip.

I also think that some of the language in previous posts was un-needed...but that is just my opinion.

No, you sound like one of those jerks. You're just the typical lazy American. The whole job of the waitstaff is to sever your food, and take your orders, and fill your drink up. Not to wait on you hand and foot. Would you cut up someone's food for $5 an hour? No.

Unless it Hooter's, your request is ridiculous, no matter where you are from. THey provide you with a fork and a knife because you are fully capable of cutting your own food. And it doesn't sound like you're handicapped, or your arm is broken, so- get over it and cut your own food. If it's a waste of your time, eat at McDonanld's where you don't have to cut it. Just stuff your face and chew.

That would be the cooks job in most restaurants the servers only serve the food. The cooks or kitchen prep would be the ones that cut, cook, and prepare food. Complain to the manager if you really feel that they should have cut it up for you and don't make the server suffer.

YES, because a waiter is being payed to make shore that you are satisfied and do your requests that are asked of them. If your not satisfied, then either no tip or a bad tip.

Give him bad tip.

But If I was the waiter, I will not accept your tip (either good or bad) because you are too lazy. You have two hands, man. Enjoy the food by cutting it by yourselve.

You're just lucky I wasn't that poor waiter you gave that rediculous request to.. I would not only have cut your food, I would have FED it too you too... "common.. now... opie biggie... here comes the goodie.. oouuu... nummie... nummie".

Geeze, I can't believe a grown person would make such a request.

THEY ARE CALLED WAITERS TO WAIT ON YOU WHEN IT COMES TO DELIVERING YOUR FOOD , NOT YOUR WET NURSE . YOU WANT SOMEONE TO CUT UP YOUR FOOD , GO TO A REST HOME AND LIVE , IF YOU THINKS IT' SO FUNNY . SEEMS TO ME YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE CUSTOMERS THAT SHOULD WATCH WHEN YOU SEND YOUR FOOD BACK ,,, BECAUSE YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET . YOU SOUND LIKE A SPOILED ROTTEN KID WHO LIKES TO BELITTLE ANYONE OUT THERE WORKING FOR A LIVING .
