Cologne or parfume, just think about manufaturing costs, and what you actually pay for it.

Without a shadow of doubt, bottled water. It had to be the advertisers dream product. In the UK it is more expensive than petrol. What a joke - £12 - yes 12 pounds per gallon. When the tap water in London is guaranteed to be better quality than most bottled waters, why on earth do people pay so much for it. Next time you see a bottle, have a look at the contents. There is even preservative to prolong the shelf life. Also, there is the famous quote by Anon: 'If it has been filtering through volcanic rock for the past million years, why is there a sell-by date on the bottle'...

CDs and DVDs. They are the most marked-up item. Seriously Look at a stack of blank DVDs and figure out how much it costs you to burn one- 20-30 cents tops. Now think of the music/movie companies netting billions every year who can mass-produce them for a fraction of what it would cost you. Yes, they pay for pretty packaging, but that's pretty cheap in bulk too. I bet they don't pay more than a buck or 2 to put out a CD. You pay $15-20.
Printer ink too... my gosh folks... it's INK and it's only in an inch high cube! Why should I have to pay $30 for it?

The entire store is overpriced if you ask me.
But if you want just one item, I'd say printer ink.

besides gas, I would have to say printer ink... sometimes its better just to get another printer with ink than to buy the ink by itself.
