Who is The Stig?
ME!!!!!
Well, if youve going to have delusions you may as well have a satisfying one.
On a serious note, the first Stig is well known (just search wikipedia), the second Stig is still unknown.

There has been 2 Stigs in the history of Top Gear.
The 1st one (appeeared in season 1 & 2) known as the Black Stig, was Perry McCarthy, former Formula 1 Driver. His identity was revealed when he publiched his book, Flat Out, Flat Broke in 2003. In the first episode of the third series, the original Stig (McCarthy) was "killed off", with some spoof footage of the Stig supposedly driving off the end of the British aircraft carrier HMS Invincible after failing to brake in time. Some believe this was due to the uncovering of his identity.
This prompted a change of dress and the "white Stig" was introduced in the second episode of series 3, on November 2, 2003. There are rumours abound that the current white Stig is Damon Hill, also a former F1 driver, because in the episode where he was the guest, he did not actually deny the accusation.
These rumours have been helped by British comedian Jimmy Carr, whom at a London event, was asked by a member of the audience who the Stig was, and without hesitation said, "Well, it used to be Damon Hill, now it's some rally driver." This received an "Oooooh" from the audience, after which he said, "Yeah, I signed a contract with BBC not to release that information, but so what, I've also got a contract with Channel 4."
I do not think Top Gear will ever reveal the Stig's identity, or at least, once it is discovered, accidentally or purposely, they will change whoever is the current Stig, as the point of bringing Stig into the show was so that Top Gear will have an unbiased oppinion of the cars they tested.
I hope this is the answer u want =) this Stig controversy drives me crazy, too.

I met the original Stigg - Perry McCarthy - Racing driver and broadcaster - at a dinner and dance along with Tony Jardine -
Perry was the one that drove Jamie Oliver's VW van with Jamie in the back trying to cook a meal......
Don't know the new ones name.
Although there is a rumour that someone by the name of Sam Collins is the Stig !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha Ha!! I know!! I used to work in Motor Racing and car shows and am very proud to say i know who the stig is.
I have seen loads of people trying to guess it on here and no-one has ever got it right. He isn't that famous but is one hell of a good driver!
I am saying no more - its fun seeing people trying to guess!

Julian Bailey He was a VERY good sports/gt racing driver. The Daily Express newspaper "outed" him during the last season of Top Crap ....oops Gear

Could it be Tiff Nedell ? Hes an awesome driver. Although he works for channel 5 he could still work for the BBC aswell.
