Couple reasons:
1. I am a know-it-all and it seems the best advice I can give is when nobody can respond
2.Bored at work
3.As soon as I saw there were points, I turned into a wild animal. You would think it was my bank account or something the way I horde them. I've only asked three questions because I can't be giving points back all willy-nilly. I just need points, points, points, I want to see what I win if I get up high enough. I don't really truly need to ask questions or give answers, I just want to WIN. LOL

First, I find the idea fascinating - millions of people asking and answering on topics from mundane to ridiculous to philosophical.......It's a tremendous resource, the collective intelligence and creativity of all of us!!! There really should be a greater application than determining the best flavor of ice cream, but it's a start! :) Second, it's just too fun to read what people say and put in my 2 cents!!!!! Wish it weren't this addictive, though! I spend too much time here.....

I can't say for sure why I am addicted but I find myself constantly coming on here and checking how many points I have. They must have designed it this way on purpose.

Because were a bunch of know it alls
i don't want any points
the person with the most point has an opinion on everything
even things he or she has no knowledge of. Would you or anyone want to be around a person like that....lol
hell no you'd be like "shut up already "

My theory:
Everyone has their own set of beliefs, based on their parents', their education, experiences, and social upbringing.
Everone also believes that their own beliefs are correct, without a doubt. Therefore everyone else's beliefs are at least slightly flawed.
Yahoo answers provides people with a way to share their "correct" beliefs with the rest of us, who are all wrong and need enlightenment.
