I agree with several previous posts. If you are using Internet Explorer, first of all, get the 'Google' pop-up stopper!!!! Also, (FREE) Lavasoft 'Ad-Aware', and 'SpyBot Search and Destroy'. I also use a free anti-virus program that works better than Norton, and has a smaller footprint. Not bloated. It is made by Grisoft, called 'AVG'. This combination, and a little patience and familiarity, and you will be in good shape. ALSO, go to 'TOOLS', 'INTERNET OPTIONS', and in center of screen hit 'DELETE FILES'.. This will get rid of a lot of junk. You might also want to delete "COOKIES' on that same box, however, you may have to log on again to some sites that you enter a name and password for, but that's a small price for getting rid of a lot of CRAP on your computer!!!!! Good luck..

You have spyware installed on your machine. This is creating popups outside of internet explorer.
If you open your Task Manager you will find a file called ieexplore.exe is running. This is the spyware. To remove this I would advise running Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. It is quick, easy, 100% free and does not come bundled with ads and spyware. Find the link attached

go to www.getfirefox.com
ditch internet explorer get a real browser.
Then scan your pc for spyware and adware - www.lavasoft.de
Or take the time to download the google pack. http://pack.google.com, obviously ditch the desktop search and nortan AV from the selection but accept the rest.
Update the spyware list in adaware and scan your system for any nasty programs.

You could try downloading Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ - it's free and will check your computer for all kinds of nasties that could be causing those pop-up ads to appear.
