I am about to finish my Doctorate degree, and have not a single publication!!!!! How uncommon is this, and will it affect further jobseeking opportunities? No publications since the project is a very long one and the Prof. thinks that its better to wait and publish good results rather than just publish.....

It is not uncommon; some projects lend themselves to publication along the way, others don't. How much longer will the research take to get publishable results? Do you have funding to complete the work after your dissertation is submitted? It is definitely better to have good results but equally important not to wait TOO long before writing a paper(s)
