I think glandular problems interfere with your metabolic rate, therefore any food eaten may burn at a lower rate than somebody without a glandular problem. The victims at Belsen probably had nothing to eat. Do you get it

Okay. I am a so-called fatty, and I will be the first to admit I have a weight problem. But I am offended that some people think it is so easy to get the weight off. Other than that, have a great day.

Actually, for some people of portly stature,it is a glandular problem that causes their weight gain. However, for others,it's a problem of not knowing when to say enough is enough and push back from the table.PS:Do you have a mirror in your house?

Because they're lying. Glandular problems account for less than 1% of people who are categorised as being clinically obese.

This is one of my pet hates - very, very few people gain weight because of 'glandular' problems although many use this as an excuse.
I'm not saying its easy to lose weight, far from it, but to use 'its my glands' is a terrible excuse.

Some people are overweight because there are metabolic issues with the thyroid and other glands and hormones in the body.
Some people are overweight because they eat entirely too much, or eat the wrong foods.
Some people are overweight because they live sedentary lifestyles.
Some people are overweight because of a combination of these three reasons.
Regardless -- it isn't your duty, nor anybody else's to point out to overweight people that they are, in fact, overweight. We are aware of our chunkiness, and most of us are taking steps to improve our lifestyles.
And, as my momma used to say, "I may be fat, but you're ugly. I can lose weight, but you're too poor to have plastic surgery."

"There were no fat people in Belsen" is one of my dear father's favourite sayings. Bless the cantankerous old goat!
