I am wondering is it easy and cheap to sell stuff on the internet. I am a little intimdated to start selling stuff using EBay or some other program like that. Any advice would be most helpful.

I've personally had problems selling things on ebay so I found another route to go. I used craigslist. You can just type it in and find it from any search engine. Then you can sell something locally(or in another state/city) and it doesn't have to be in an auction...also, it's free!
NOTE: there are some scammers on there, they will try to tell you they are sending you some sort of money order, etc and they live in Nigeria or something...or there response sounds like they never read your ad...like they are asking questions about your 'item' or something and everything they asked is already in your ad. Just keep aware of that. (craigslist will advise you of this too in your emails).

well i will tell you it is a lot of work, i had and working to get it back up a Internet business and do eBay i enjoy eBay but it not just put something up and good luck if you really want to make a business out of selling on the Internet research what you want to sell, see if it is something that is not overly sold to much of one thing is never good sooner or later you get cut throated.
once you have got your stock which can be expensive because you got it keep it going then you find out were you want to sell because no place is free if you have your own sight then you half to make it appealing so people remember you so if you can not do it your self then you half to hire some one, if it is eBay then you have fees to pay a good camera is a must.
Take your time don't get in a hurry i think if it is something you really wan to do then you should have no problems if you just research their are lots of books out their on eBay and on building a web sight.

I think eBay is a great way to start selling things over the Intenet. If you decide to go with eBay, I do recommend that you do spend about a week of so just reading as much as you can in terms of what is involved with selling on eBay.

see if there's a change meet on your community section you could employ an section to promote your stuff for less expensive or there is always backyard sales and storage sales yet my ideal suggestion may be the swapmeet

The big problem is to find customers for your stuff on your website.
