I don't think that that is too many pets. As long as they all have proper living space (and because most birds are kept in cages, and fish in tanks, that shouldn't be too hard) and you take good care of them, it seems okay. Cats are generallly more of a family animal, so assuming others in your household also help with the cats, and assuming you take care of the birds (and fish don't exactly need socialization), I don't see a problem.

Of course I currently have two cats, a dog, a tank of over 13 fish and 30 snails, four bettas (kept individually), two rats, and eight mice...I can't really tell you that you have too many ;) Not to mention that only a little while ago I also had another rat, and a spiny mouse (and my sisters have guinea pigs which I help with).

These are divided over two households though, and the cats and dog are the whole family's responsibility. The mice (except for the two males) are all kept together, as are the rats, and their cages don't take up too much space.

So yup, as long as you take care of them and have time to love them all, then it sounds like you have a good thing going.

No, I owned 3 dogs, names Bucky, Jake and Tasha. 3 cats, named Siam, Gracie and Muddee. A rat, named Splinter, and a bunch of fish, I even had a chipmunk, named Chip'n dale, 2 lizards, named Liz and Kain, and 2 turtles, named Sam and Tash. We had a flying squarll, named Bambie, and 3 hamsters, named Judy, Ginger and Goldie and 7 puppies, named Mickey, Bear, JJ and Tippy (the others were adopted). And a little green bird named Chip. And out of all the animals only 2 dogs and a cat remain. Bear, JJ and Tippy were from the same litter and died a week before their 6 month birthday of Parvo, their brother Sparky died 3 days before he turned 6 months old. So Tasha watched as her kids died. Jake and Tasha didn't eat or bark for 2 days. I miss them...

As long as you take good care of them and spend time with them then I think you are a responsible kid. HOWEVER, if you start trying to teach your fish to do tricks like chasing a ball, then I would start worrying!! (Just kidding.)

If you still want more contact with animals, maybe you could do some volunteer work at your local animal shelter or zoo. I am a volunteer and the young adults are the hardest working people there. And they know their stuff. It's great to see the compassion that you kids have, and to know that your knowledge and concern will be passed on to future generations.

i love all of them except for a rabbit. Fish are particularly as more desirable of a decoration type of component. Cats are cool. dogs are relaxing. Birds on the instantaneous are and reduce back unique, which i love. I evaluate my flowers a puppy, they're alive and in my care. they're kinda boring, though.

I'm just guessing that cat has to be very well fed for you to keep all of those birds and fish. I say you can have as many animals as you want as long as they are well taken care of.

Not if you take good care of them. I wouldn't get any more though.

I have 3 cats and a dog (used to have 2 rabbits also).
