my daughter was detained and questioned by police for 4 hours at school. i was never contacted in any way by the police or school authorities.

why did you post this question twice??? you got 15 answers on the same question you asked before.

by the way, if it's in a state/public high school, there are laws that pertain to what can/cannot be done on school property. basically it's government maintained.


check with an attorney on this!

I work at a school and the police and CPS can come and question children without their parents being contacted.

I smell a lawsuit. The first thing they should have done was contact you or her father. They can not question her without your consent.

Yes and any search or seizure on school property is legal also. They can search lockers, cars in parking lot, and the person themselves.
