Some of it can be considered heavy metal, some of it rock, I would say the best term to describe Van Halen is; Hard Rock

old VH with DLR=superb Kick azz troublesome Rock VH with Hagar=Gettin' a touch Wimpy the following do not you imagine? New VH=Wimpy Egotistical do not provide a Crap about it anymore garbage! Hagar nevertheless Rocks tho with the Cabo Wabos.... DLR grew to grow to be right into a geeky nerd.

Most defiantly hard rock!!! Love that band, but miss diamond dave, he was defiantly the frontman for the band. I like Sammy too, but I just can't picture him with VH. Love ya Ed and Alex!!!!
