This is when the baby is not presenting the right way ie head first. Though normal labour is hard this is the least difficult way of giving birth. Unless the baby can be turned into the normal way of being born then the labour will be long and tiring and the child can become stressed and it could become problematic for both. if a c section is advised then it is for the well being of both mother and child. Ask questions of the medics concerned so that you have the correct information and understand what will happen and why.

Its not "dangerous" but there can potentially be more problems at the birth. I say potentially because some women have perfectly normal births with a breech baby.
The mother should really go by what her doctor says. If they feel a caesarean is the best option then she should go with it. The advantages are its over fairly quickly so you get to see your baby sooner, plus no horrible labour pains/prolonged labour!!! Its not that hard to recover from either as drugs and techniques get better all the time. My cousin's wife came home from hospital 2 days after her caeasarean and she was fine!!!

I had 2 breech babies. Had them both c-section and went on two have 2 natural and another c-section. Go with the c-section if baby is still breech in the end but remember the baby can turn up until the day of delivery vaginal will be too stressful on the baby

It's not more dangerous on the pregnancy side but it can make birth more difficult. There are certain breech positions that can make a normal birth very hard. Your sister can go for a normal birth but she might be in labour for ages then be told she needs a c-section.

Why would she risk injury to her or her baby..The c-section is safer and has less stress on the baby...A breech is more dangerous the baby could become tangled in cord during birth or worse...tell her to do the right thing for the baby not herself...

She needs to read about the breech tilt. It is a way to get the baby to turn himself around. The mother lies on her back 20 min. at a time twice a day with her feet higher than her head. 80% of the time the baby will turn around.

in some cases yes it depends if the baby is feet first or bottom first. In a lot of cases now they can turn the baby to the correct position, if the baby is feet first a lot of the time they don't turn them but in the case of bottom first they do try as this position is harder on both the baby and the mother

A breech birth has greater risk, but in pregnancy the baby can move a lot.
