well, some people say that when a pet dies, they go to a place called rainbow bridge. its made out to be this great and wonderful place where pets will spend the rest of their afterlife. and its also said that they won't remember any bad things that had happened to them before, only the good people that were in their life

oh! Thats so sad she really is devestated, she thinks its her fault, she probably won't ever go near the next doors dog or owner. Tell her its not her fault sometimes nature hurts things like lions hunt antelope and dogs fight. Say it would have been worse if it had been badly ingured and lived and had to suffer say its beter she has gone on other than have to have injections. Nothing anyone could have done. Keep Ellie off of school for a few days, bury Chilli in the garden and make the spot nice a plaque a few statues of rabbits and squirells some lovely flowers and put a bench near there. Tell Ellie she can go and think of how cute Chilli was and everything good about her, she can talk and feel comforted that way.

Condolences, I hope Ellie feels better in time.

That is so sad! I think the thing to do is have a funeral and if possible, see if you or your parents can get a dog from the pound. By saving another dog's life you will be honoring Chili's memory and pound puppies seem to make wonderful friends because it seems like they never forget that awful place. Also, dogs that are "mutts" are usually healthier than purebred dogs. Make sure you keep the new one in the back yard and watch them...sounds like the German shepherd is psycho.:(

tell her that chili was just a baby and sometimes bad things happen, but that chili loved her and wouldn't want her to be so sad. remind her of some of the cute puppy things chili did and to remember the pup and think of happy things.

When she is ready, tell her that you will help her find a puppy that you both think chili would be proud to have as a brother or sister. Tell her chili will never be replaced, but there is too much love in her heart and a puppy needs her.

That is so sad! I think she just needs to know that chilli knows she cared about him very much and she needs to be able to let her feelings out about how she felt about him. There really is nothing you can do. I'm sure chilli was like her best friend. Maybe you could get her another pet for inside and tell her chilli would want her to share her love with another animal just as she did with him and he wouldn't want her to be alone. That is so hard and so sad. I'm really sorry that happened to her. So unfair!

Nothing I could ever say can change the greif we feel after losing a valued pet, I have lost two dogs myself in the last few days, and the only comfort is that the greif we feel is proof that we made the best of the time we had.

It isn;t enough, but time will make up for it, just be there for your sister.

Oh my. I would say that sometimes bad things happen but this is part of nature and now the dog is with God. Maybe after a short time you can get another dog and make sure the neighbor controls his animals. Best of luck. Peace.

you could tell her that god had put chilli on the earth to make her happy, and to make good memories for her.
Chilli has done what God wanted and now has to go somewhere else to do the same for someone else.
I hope the pain eases for you all soon, and good memories will flood your thoughts.

maybe you can get her another one only not the same breed. but maybe sue the other neighbor because yes your dog wondered off but that is like a threat to the neifghbor hood, like what if a little kid wondered there and the dog attaked her or mhim and it was fatal? hope it helps.
