a Rooster farm? Sorry, I've just never heard of splitting up the raising of chickens by gender qualifications.

Both options can bring in money, of course. Which you choose would have to depend on a lot of factors, not the least of which is how much capital you have going into it, and just how much space you own or can lease.

Much of what will keep your business going will be the stock regenerating themselves, and chickens need a lot more intensive care in your climate than new calves do.

Both of those endeavors will require extensive manhours - the milking alone will have to be done twice a day - to say nothing of getting the contracts necessary to make a paycheck feasible.

Do you have any real and intense experience in either of these fields? If not, and you have the space, just start with raising cattle. There is always a market for beef and you don't need a contract to sell them. They can be a lot of work, especially in those Montana winters, but they aren't popping out babies all year round, only in the spring.

Oh hell. I don't know why I'm even answering this question. You already know what you'd be good at, and probably already know what your strengths and weaknesses might be.

So the only one who can answer your question is you, yourself. Do some research to find out what the costs are to run each operation, and check around to find out what contractors might pay you for your end product. That'll give you your answer.

You'll starve waiting for those roosters to lay eggs. Better go with a dairy farm.

I don't know how much revenue you could generate from just having a bunch of roosters...so i would have to say dairy farm.

Methinks you'd make more on a stud ranch.
