Yes, he is dead! He pass away on 1 July 2005 after having a massive stoke brought on by diabetes and hypertension. He was 54.

Sadly Luther Vandross passed away July 1, 2005. He will be missed by everyone that loved him, whether they knew him or not. I loved the tribute they did for him at Essence Festival when I went, Ruben and everybody gave him at least one shout out and they did alot of his songs.... I miss him so much I cried when I heard...and I'm only 17...16 when he died...he meant that much to me...

Yes, I think he passed away last year. He had a stroke and never fully recovered from it.

Yeah he died July 1, 2005. He had been sick for awhile, that's why his weight went up and down. I think he was a diabetic, but not for sure.

Yes, he died on July 1, 2005. Some people said he was gay and that he had aids. I don't believe it. I think he was diabetic.

im afraid so. he passed away a while back now.
there wasnt much coverage tho so im not suprised u hadnt heard. he was a great artist and had a voice of an angel

Last year i think after his stroke, not sure if he had a heart attack... God bless his soul...
