when we were babies? ummm.. we were to young to care to store information in our heads. but we've picked up some things subconsciously along the way. ask a psychologist. Remember, a baby who's not held by the mother, ends up, a dysfunctional adult? something like that.
Also, we were wired to remember more important things for us at that stage of our development, like speech, recognition of facial expressions of people etc. how to walk on two feet. colors list is long. so i hope i made sense.
But let me tell you, i remember my first song, and i was 3. my mother and nanny told me so. Jack jones'- What i did for love. so yes i do rmbr!

Because we are growing, I can remember physical abuse I suffered back to the age of 3 but I think that is pretty common for abused children to remember trauma. I'd always like to hope that before that, there was none.

I heard it is because our brians weren't fully developed.
You don't know everything as soon as you are born!
Memory is something we develop over time,
just like language
and learning what is bad and what is good.
