self-control: the ability to maintain your cool & therefore avoid complicating a situation any further. important to have in all aspects except when some punk's tryin' to tell you who to be or how to live your life. that's the time to lose it & speak up for yourself, take a stand. and if somebody's commitin an act of cruelty (morals), then you also must not hold yourself back from stoppin him/her. to know when to keep self-control is mature & constructive but to keep it in those instances when it's crucial to lose it and you know it is immature & destructive. also about sciences, tech, arts, med...if somebody told you couldn't make advancements in those areas, you shouldn't control yourself from tryin to prove that person wrong. history...wars erupt if control's lost. parenting...your child was bein naughty but you control yourself so as not to hit them...etc, etc...the question's broad but hopefully you got some answers
