Your body is split into two halves. Your brain is also in two halves. left and right. The info from your body is kept as two seperate halves so that your brain knows which side of the body feels the pain etc. Plus it helps with your 3D spacial awareness. Info that travels through your two eyes, two ears etc stays seperate as it travels through your brain.
Makes sense so far?
Different areas of your brain deal with different info.
With deja vu, information travels through your brain and is accidentally routed through the 'long term memory' section. So when it appears as a conscious thought, you think that it is an old memory, it feels familiar.

The kind of deja vu where you know you have had a dream and can remember that is less easy to explain; Carl Jung called this the Collective Unconscious and believed we all have the capacity to tap into it when we are asleep and dreaming. Its one explanation for lucid dreaming but doesn't give a clear mechanism for the dream kind of deja vu.

Some people think I'm crazy for saying so, but when I experience deja vu I can usually retrace back to a dream I had, maybe recently or maybe years ago. I'm not saying I'm psychic, because if I was why would I be seeing such unimportant events in my dreams? But I do believe we all experience things when we are dreaming that are part of a bigger picture. I believe Carl Jung referred to this phenomena as the collective unconscious, but don't quote me on that!
Some people like myself believe Deja Vu is related to this, others believe it is just a misfire of the brain or a coincidence.

yes, deja vu is the feeling you have when you're experiencing something you've already dreamt. I kept a dream diary for ten years, and this fact became very clear - we sometimes dream 'into the future' - but unless we record our dreams, when an event, or conversation, happens that gives us the deja vu feeling, we can't quite recall why we feel it. Keeping a dream diary answered that for me - because i could go back to the diary and see exactly when i'd already dreamt the event.

Deja vu is a flashback of memory, of a glimpse of your life to come BEFORE you were born on the earth. I know you may find this unbelievable but we are all shown a glimpse of our future life before we leave the spirit world to be reborn, and when we actually experiance it here we remember it in a flash which lasts a few seconds.if you are interested to find out more about this buy the book "The Journey Of Souls" by Michael Newton. It tells everything you want to know about where we were before being born. you can find it on Amazon .co.uk

Deja vu is the feeling that you've already experienced something that you're currently experiencing. It's French for "already seen."

I have heard that deja vu is somethign that could jave happened in your past life that you have just remembered seeing that exact moment or thing. I have also read and heard from my aunt ( witch) that it is a vision thaty you had and then you finally get to see it for real (you just saw it in your mind and forgot about it).

We have all some experience of a feeling, that comes over us occasionally, of what we are saying and doing having been said and done before, in a remote time - of our having been surrounded, dim ages ago, by the same faces, objects, and circumstances - of our knowing perfectly what will be said next, as if we suddenly remember it!
