If they used the full court press all the time they would get tired faster when compared to only using a half court press. They use a full court press only when they are pressuring the ball trying to get a steal or if they want to tire somebody out on the other team.

That's a good question
here are my theories
1. (most) NBA players are excellent passers and their coaches and players know how to break the press easily resulting in easy baskets.
2. The coaches don't want to wear out their star players or any players for that matter- many teams have all-stars that their whole team relies on (Lakers- Kobe, Sixers- Iverson, etc.) They think that they can just stop them at the other end of the court.
3. The players are too lazy and won't do it.
Hope that helps- there are other possibilities

Yes it is effective but did you notice that they only use it in the 2nd quarter and 4th quarter. They use it then because they know that they are getting a break after the buzzer goes off or know that the game is over. They may use it during the 1st and 3rd quarter if they want to keep their lead and stop the other team from catching up. See, they get tired if they use full-court press. Why use it if you get tired faster and have to sit out?

two words.............lazy and overpaid
players are so overpaid for playing a game that they think all their job revolves around is shooting. they're too lazy and spoiled to play any defense which is another reason college is better than the NBA!

its too easy to break if u just slow the game down... swing it to one side then back to the other quickly... the ball moves faster than any human...
