Ms. means divorced or widowed. Mrs. means married. Easy to remember because the married is a Mr with an S.

Hello Randi:
Well, there are lots of options, and it is totally, 100% up to you which you pick.
Some keep their name, for many reasons; they like it, it is a pain to change all the stuff.....and some change it.
I used Mrs. afterwards, and got mean comments from family, on both sides.....I wanted to keep it Mrs.
Then I moved over to Ms. and well hated it.
Now I don't use any of them, because they label us.......with men Mr. can be divorced, single, we don't know.
With Ms. you are either divorced, angry, but usually it means that you have been a Mrs. and now you are independent(even though before you were already independent)
Funny hey. All this silly ness in life.
Pick what you want honey, and stand by yourself with honour.
luv
Ava

If you're keeping your married name, you are entitled to use the title Mrs for as long as you like....most people just prefer Ms. :)

If you're divorced then you don't need to keep the married name, you don't deserve to keep it, go back to the name you had before you were married and be Ms whatever that is.

Once you have gotten divorced, you and your spouse are no longer tied to each other. Whether or not you keep your married name or not, you are no longer married under the law and will now be "Ms."
I have a few friends who kept their married names even after their seperation and they are known as "Ms...___"

I would say Miss or Ms. If you aren't married, or no longer married, you're not a Mrs.

Wow!
This could just be my blonde hair talking
but I didn't know you could
keep your married name
if you got divorced!
I simply thought you had to
go back to your madin name.
That's cool, though,
because I like my hubby's last name
alot more than mine!
(Although I will clarify that
I'm not looking for a divorce!)
Lol.
