i just lost my mucus plug about an hour ago, and now have a dull cramp-like feeling in my abdomen, very similar to the icky feeling we all get a day or two before our period. Is it possible that this is the start of labor? I honestly don't know... and am kind of nervous...

you can lose your mucos plug up to a month before the baby is ready to come so no it's not a real sign of labor but could be a sign that labor is close. Monitor what you say is cramping if it is occuring frequently like Every 10 min and is consistant and the pain begins to increase and you have been experiencing this for a couple of hours then my friend I would say to call your doctor and let him know...

Could be, but it could be awhile until anything actually happens. I had that experience about a week before I had my baby. Sometimes the labor process starts a while before the baby is actually ready to come, just your body preparing the way. If it gets worse then the time may be near, or obviously if your water breaks. Congratulations, and good luck with everything!

If you lost your mucus plug, then chances are you are staring labor. Wait until the contraction come and then go to the hospital. After your mucus plug is gone, then you are going to have the baby pretty soon.

you can lose your mucus plug several days before labor, but just watch and if the cramping turns into actual pains, start timing them, get active if its labor this will bring it on and help move it along, good luck and congrats....
