In Las Vegas the development of residential area casinos has increased jobs and tax revenue. On the down side however, the crime level and poverty have increased exponentially. I suspect that gambling is having that effect in other parts of the country also.

Without all of the details (location, number of rooms, etc.) I would also have to say that the economic benefits to your area would be considerable.

There would be new jobs, as the hoteliers would need people to run the hotel. As far as the tax revenue is concerned, of course the payroll taxes as well as ‘bed taxes’, and hopefully the guests in the hotel will spend some money in the surrounding area bringing in more revenue to local businesses and thereby generating more volume to those businesses and more tax revenue.

Depends upon how they incorporate in their plans to preserve the culture and nature of the place and provide jobs for local people.
