Regarding your first question "Is life a horror film filled with misery, death, and tragedy?", I believe the answer to be no. Do we have misery, death, and tragedy in it, heck ya. Just turn on the news and you will see it. Also, life is filled with light, love, and joy. Those things unfortunately are sometimes hard to see, as our culture focuses on the negative and superficial things. I am sorry that you are at a point in your life that you just see the negative, and hope that you will be able to see the positive soon. Regarding your second question, weather we exist or not. Yes, we exist. Your question reminds me of why it is important for us to believe in God (weather Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu or what ever) and an afterlife. If you don't, it is easy to think that life is just one big cruel joke. Life is a gift, sometimes their are parts of that gift that we don't like, but we have to take the good with the bad. Life here is a stepping stone to the next, and we are here to learn. If you truly feel as angry and hopeless as your question sounds, I feel so sorry for you as their is so much more to life. The way I see it, those are the negative aspects of life. Whatever you do, never forget the good ones. Make your short stay on earth the best it can be! Love, kindness, peace, friendship...those are only a small few. But you get where I'm coming from.
