Well I would say you need to plan a little better, but as far as your new place you say it is not ready yet.Is this your fault or theres if you have a arranged date to move into an apartment I would be talking to them if you gave your notice at the old place cause you had a date to move into the new place they should have to follow through with your arrangement. But you could talk to your current landlord to see if you could stay alittle longer if your place isnt already rented again you woulnt want to put someone else in the same position you are. That is why it is so important that everyone has the dates correct moving is a very time scheduled thing and for it to work everyone must be on the same page. Can you barrow some money from a friend or family?Good luck.

Go to the local St. Vincent DePaul Society.
It is a Catholic org.
They will help you even if you are not Catholic.
If it is not listed in the book, call a Catholic church and they will give you the number. Visit your old landlord face to face and be up front with him, tell him you really need that deposit back, you can't even buy food. Beg if you have to. I would do it for my family.
God bless,
Heather

Negotiate with your landlord. Maybe he will let you stay and extra week for an extra weeks rent. Trust me, if he knows you are broke and moving, he will be happy to send you on your way. Landlords have a heck of a time getting people out. Sometimes they have to go thru court and they get all kinds of people in their properties.

Go to your local social services office, and explain your situation to them They will take everything into consideration, and could put you up in a motel, for a few days, until your apartment is ready. They could declare an emergency situation, and might give you some money, to hold you over..good luck..
