iRiver Clix. The BEST flash player, BY FAR.
It stores 2GB (about 500 songs), views photos, plays video, has an FM tuner, FM + voice recording, and the battery lasts 19/20 hours before you have to charge it. You can download games onto the Clix, too.
It's got a cool design. You press the edge of the screen to navigate. Don't mind the pictures, it's much smaller than it looks.
It's $200, the same price as the matching-in-capacity Nano. The Clix won CNET's Editor's Choice award.
The best large capacity player is the Creative Zen Vision: M, narrowly. It's customizable, and has a great screen along with a wide range of features and solid battery life.
Honorable mention goes to the Sandisk Sansa e200 series (I have one of these, too. They're not as great as the Clix, but still good.) and the Toshiba Gigabeat S.

Creative Labs, definitely. I don't have the Vision M, but I do have the Zen Touch. It's infinitely better than anything else I've listened to in terms of sound quality. The battery life is awesome too. This isn't too surprising, seeing as Creative Labs have been making PC audio products for nearly 20 years, and their gear has always been top of the line or the basis for all other equivalents.

The Creative Zen V Plus just came out, and supports all same stuff as ipod, and has more goodies for only 150$, the screen is sorta small, but i have the Zen V (not plus) and it is good screen quality.
If your looking for something to mainly watch movies on,but also play music, i have the perfect thing for you
The Iriver Clix

if u just want Mp3's i think u don't have to get the video ipod.. get ipod shuffle or ipod nano (nano plays video but it has a smaller screen than the video's and it has (1,2 or 4 GB) & the video has(30 or 60 GB)..& the nano is also cheaper)...i heard the Vision M is nice too

for my area, i imagine you should get a Microsoft Zune. The Zune does each thing that an iPod can do, except it is going previous! The Zune also has on the spot music sharing and also a radio! (that would are available available!) i imagine the Microsoft Zune is about....hm...i imagine about $250-three hundred. good success with searching the perfect MP3 for you!!!! ;D

A Creative Zen Micro. They are great mp3 players. They have many other features such as voice recording, syncing with your computer and many others.
