I'm conducting a field study to try and prove that the reason 50% of all marriages and relationships fail is because both parties found each other based strongly on physical attraction and not personality. If you can't connect with a person personality wise then all you can really do is stare at each other and admire your looks and the realtionship goes no where. Also when you go strictly by looks you limit your field greatly.

personality is very important. that and of course a healthy appearance are the two things i would assume most people look for. you're stuck with a person's personality a lot longer than their looks, so it is vital. definitely a major factor in look at potential partners.

As far as I know, in management jobs, in group discussions, in job interviews, it is personality which still matters most. I do not know which country you are conducting your study at and whether the population you selected is representative enough to make a judgment about "today's society", but compatibility between personality is well established as a factor for prolonging any relationship: work, business, personal.

I FINALLY FOUND A GREAT GUY ITS NOT ABOUT PHYSICAL ATTRACTION AT ALL BUT WE GET ALONG SO WELL AND HAVE SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER, THE ATTRACTION DOES WEAR OFF IN TIME.

when you marry, your personality's change. anyone who says "she can't change me, or i am not going to change" is a fool. people change all the time. that is part of life and the maturity factor.
