because those guys are gay and they look gay when they sing those songs, so if you are singing those tunes , you probably seem a liittle strange to others,

Back in the 70's everyone liked those songs. For some reason the gay community likes and plays them a lot and created the stereo type.

thats because the village people were a gay group and when someone says "its raining men," it usually means that they like men in a more personal way.
