This is probably going to be dominated by John Williams, but, that's deservedly so. There is no question he is the greatest film composer who ever lived. My vote goes for Superman, but I would also throw in James Horner's Braveheart score, which is incredible and , of course, Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I'd have to say just about anything by John Williams and Howard Shore. I love the Harry Potter soundtracks John did and the Lord of the Rings Howard did. They are my favorite.

"The Sting"
A soundtrack we all know and love!

The finished movie sports a number of straightforward tracks of Marvin Hamlisch playing Scott Joplin originals at the piano.

There are also a number of orchestral arrangements of Joplin rags, some custom built tracks by Hamlisch himself (including a truly raunchy "Hooker's Hooker"), a jaunty jazz violin piece called "Little Girl" and some Merry-go-round music.

A Hard Day's Night. Most other are just oldies compilations. And don't confuse soundtrack with score. Not the same.

My favorite soundtrack is the one for the full monty. It's got great hits from several eras. It stands alone as nice music and also brings back wonderful memories of scenes from the film.
