I really didn't see too many movies last year, but out of the few I saw I loved, Brokeback Mountain and Crash. Both of these movies dealt with issues usually ignored or joked about. All the actors were great and the storylines were real. I bought both these movies on DVD and watch them several times a month. If you haven't seen them; you really need to.

Paheli was my favorite movie of 05. It is a beautiful story about a woman whose husband leaves her the morning after their wedding (when he let her cry herself to sleep) and leaves her for 5 years. A ghost falls in love with her and takes the shape of her husband and comes to live with her and they fall in love. It's a sweet story, the music is wonderful, especially dheere jalna. The acting is top notch and the sets are absolutely stunning.

Night Watch. Definitely the best plot of any vampire film I've seen.
I thought Crash was crappy and it has been done before.
