Whats the purpose of getting married if you are not going to honor those Vows?

Where is the love?
In other places in the world women and men are kidnapped and forced to get married. In America you have to option to pick and chose and you still can't get it right?
What is wrong?

You have it right there. We have the option to pick and choose. Right there things are too easy, and we don't realise that when we choose, our choice quite often is endless.

Some don't think and go leaping into a marriage! Respect is in short order today too!

I believe that respect for the institution and relationships in general is the answer to keeping something very special for a long, long time. We need to watch what we say to one another, as a people, and honour one another, let alone marriage.

I just don't think that people take marriage seriously any more. Its so sad, I was brought up to believe that a person is only as good as their word and I live by that.

I never have been married because I just haven't come across a man who can keep his word! If your partner can't keep their promise about insignificant things, how do you believe that they will keep it with the important things.

Divorce is now an every day term and so common that it is no longer shameful, as is having an affair. God has gone from most peoples lives and the vows they make before him no longer mean anything, I mean hey! we can't even manage to stick to 10 simple rules he asked us to follow!

We have lost the meaning of love, respect and commitment.

No one should get married if they don't
have the right intentions to back up their vows.
Some people start out with the right intentions,
but if they are shady in other parts of their life,
eventually they will become shady in marriage, too.
That's why people shouldn't rush into marriage.
Take the time to really get to know the person you're dating.
You might love his/er personality,
but what about their character?

People are getting married for the wrong reasons. Whether it be a greedy female, marrying for money, or a greedy man marrying a women to get her in the bed. The idea of love and marriage is lost these days, too many people are getting divorced because they simply don't want to be married anymore. People rush into marriage forgetting that marriage is supposed to be a life long commitment.
