Drive-ins are tiresome. You can only go at night, you must have a car, you don't get great sound. I actually don't know why anyone would choose a drive-in over a regular movie.

Indoor theaters because of the air conditioning. However, if its nice, drive-in would be the best. Bigger screens and you can tailgate!
One advantage of the regular movies is the IMAX format. I recently saw Superman Returns in 3D on the IMAX. One of the best theater experiences I've had in a long time!

1. They dont have to pay money to get in
2. They dont have to pay for food.
3. They are in a comfortable area, not just sitting in limited space in a car.
4. They can pause the movie if they have to use the restroom and then restart it when they want.
5. If they have kids, they dont have to pay for a babysitter.
If they like the drive in, its to get out of the house, away from the kids.

i like indoor theaters for the sound and the picture but there's nothing like going to the drive in on a hot summer night with a bunch of friends in the back of a truck.

cause its indoors. no bugs, dont have to wait until the sun goes down, dont have to burn up your car battery, ac if its muggy or hot out, better picture, better sound, its a lot closer, tons of reasons!
the drive in is a treat, do it once in a while just cause its the drive in, but i dont want to make a habit out of it.

Better picture and better sound - unless you use your car's radio system if its a good one.
However, I prefer going to the drive-in. The ambience is just what makes it nice.
