And it is BUT probably not as badly as the messages would like you to believe.
Go off line and use system restore (start > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore) to go back to a set up before these messages started to appear. Do your scans and install your firewall again before connecting to the internet again. The "infection" is probably the very thing that's generating the warnings.

What program is giving you the message? If it's a pop up from Internet Explorer, then that is the virus.
If it is a Internet explorer pop up, look for the name of the program that is claiming that you have a virus. Do a search on the web for the program. In the results, select one that says How to remove the virus or pop up.
Hope this helps.

sometimes when you visit certain sites, pop ups will appear and say you have infection just so you will download their software and buy their products
by installing thier software you will unwittingly install spyware/adware on your p.c
this is the main way a program can "browser hijack" and these programs can be hard to remove
as you have run all the security scans and all of them are clear,i would just ignore these messages,i do,there a pain but theres nothing we can do
f-secure anti-virus contains utilitys that can stop these pop-ups ,and adaware personal can control adware which can be responsible for pop-ups
f-secure is avalible from http://www.f-secure.com/download-purchase/list.shtml,and adaware is avalible from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
good luck

there are no anti virus programs that are 100% reliable, try a few free trial versions to find the location of the virus, then go to the directory its in and remove it manually by deleting it, if you get the message saying it is in use by another person or prog, you need to restart the pc in safe mode and delete it then reboot as normal.
If that doesnt work, email me and I'll help you out.
(or it could be a spyware issue,, run ad-aware se, its a free prog available from lavasoft)

Hi, there maybe something wrong with your IE.
i recommand you to try firefox.
it can block that annoying ads and disable any virus on webpage. as you know, most virus are spread through internet.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
Download firefox for free in here:

you need "hijack this" to remove the hook thats hijacking your homepage. You need to start up in safe mode and delete all the spyware files in your system32 folder. You need to remove all the start up entries that correspond to the virus. You need to remove there registry values as well.system restore is not advisable. the virus will remain in your system volume information

www.trendmicro.com has an online scanner, which is free and pretty nice. If you find a virus, they will try to auto remove, and if they can't, they give you directions on how to remove it manually.

download adaware-se from their own site... and also windows defender from microsoft.... if those two dont clear your pc... then you can format it and reinstall everything... if you have the xp disc, you just start it in when you boot and go from there....(also, make sure your antivirus is bang upto date..........
