I knew it was a stupid idea but I wrote to my girlfiend of three years explaiening how a certain moment of our lives affected me. She then called me and basically said dont write anything like that again you idiot, you are not supposed to be emotionally affected or express emotion. Putting it bluntly she made me feel like a big homo when all I wanted to do was write her something romantic. What did I do wrong or is my gf just broken and should have been happy that I put in time and effort in an attempt to show my love. Help?

since women do that all the time and men dont it can surprise a woman. also a man can have too many big ideas of how important it will be and want validation from the woman. you need to show her that you are not going to be devistated if she does not hang on every word but you do plan to express your feelings. that might work pretty well imho

I hate to say it, but your girlfriend is weird and obviously doesn't deserve a guy like you. Believe me, most girls LOVE it when their guy talks or says something emotional. It shows that they're more than one dimensional and that the relationship actually means something more to him than just sex. Your girlfriend has issues. Don't let this one incident with a girl with problems affect your future relationships. As you get older, your sensitive side will be even more appreciated. Trust me on that one. And dump the girlfriend and get someone with more depth to her.

Your girlfriend sounds bizarre...do you know how many women would absolutely love a man to bare their soul like that??
What woman does not want her man to be emotionally affected by anything?? I would work on finding a new girlfriend...FAST!!!

Since we won't/don't know what it was you wrote about it, all we have to go with is your brief explanation... which, since you're writing it, makes your g/f sound like a complete b*tch.

If she is a complete b*tch, why have you been with her for 3 years? If she isn't, then talk to her about it and find out why she reacted that way.

Dude...most women would give anything to have a man who was sensitive and romantic. Dump the zero gf and get one who appreciates your "fem" side. You don't need that crap.

Um, maybe she needs counselling, and maybe you could both do some counselling together.
Maybe you should let her know that this hurt you, you were only trying to express your love.
Is she someone who is not comfortable with love, does it scare her? Maybe she needs some therapy.

I agree with everyone... we girls would love if guys would just express their feelings towards us so that we can also know how you feel. If she does not appriate what you have done for her, then she is not worth it, she is the dum one. You have done the right thing. don't ever dought that.

I wouldn't have had a problem with it. I wish my b/f would tell me how he feels
